The school was founded in Greece by Alaeddin Janid, a Syrian refugee, back in February of 2017 to improve the lack of education for the children living in refugee camps. The volunteers who run the organization use creative activities such as arts and crafts to help teach the children math, science, English and art. Providing education for different age groups allows the children to interact and learn alongside each other regardless of the struggles they face from fleeing their native countries with their families.
Hailey said that natural human instinct interested her to help with the refugee crisis. “I don’t know how people can be aware this is going on and not have the desire to help,” said Hailey.
